Crustianity

The Crust You Would Discard

It is easy to love the centre of the slice — the melting cheese, the bright tomato, the yielding warmth. It asks nothing of you. But the crust? The crust is the test.

To discard the crust is the first grave sin, and it is a small betrayal that reveals a larger one: the habit of keeping only what is easy and casting off what requires effort. The crust is the foundation. It carried everything you enjoyed.

So it is with people, and with communities. Do not love only the soft centre of your life and abandon the parts that hold it up. Honour the crust. Finish what carried you.
